Card reader 2 error
MC58: * Re-insert the tachograph card. * Request a withdraw of the tachograph card again. * Interrupt continuous voltage (perform restart). * If the error message continues to appear despite these measures, replace the tachograph. MC59: * Check the tachograph card's contact points, and clean them if necessary * Check tachograph card. * Check the tachograph card slot. If necessary, clean the contact of the card slot inside the tachograph with a suitable cleaning card. * Replace defective components.

System reaction
MC58/EV600: * Message with error text: "Internal fault" together with Memory Code 58 is shown in the tachograph display. * Event is not stored in the tachograph memory MC59/EV601: * Warning message with error text: "card fault" together with Memory Code 59 is shown in the tachograph display. * The warning message will be displayed repetitively every hour until the cause is withdrawn. * Event stored in the tachograph memory * Event stored and in the inserted tachograph card. * System event in TCO1 CAN message is set to active. * Tachograph warning (amber T) is displayed in the instrument cluster.

MC58: Fault detected in the card reader mechanics. MC59: Communication fault has appeared during reading or writing card data.
MC58: * Card lock not closed. * General error en the card reader mechanics. MC59: * Contacts on the tachograph card chip are dirty. * Defective tachograph card/chip. * Dirty contact points inside the tachograph card slot.
