AM/FM Antenna short circuit to GND

â–¶ How to fix

Note! Make sure the battery voltage is above the limit of detection. Disconnect the AM/FM antenna power cord (white connector) from the antenna (U26) and check if the DTC becomes passive. If so replace the antenna (U26). If the DTC is still active then measure the wiring between ground and signal. The measurement result should be between 8 and 16 V. Diconnect the antenna from the infotainment system. If the DTC is still active then inspect the infotainment system for any issue (for example broken connector). If it becomes passive then the issue is in the wire. Inspect wire for any broken part or short circuit. Note. Before replacing the infotainment system update to the latest available software.

What you'll see

The infotainment system cannot receive signals from the antenna. Very bad or no reception on the AM/FM radio.

System reaction

No system-reaction text recorded.

Diagnostic depth

Detection

When the AMFM Antenna is Short Circuited to GND and also EOL "System_AM/FM/FM2 Antenna type" is "ACTIVE (0x01)". When the current at the antenna > 50mA. This fault will be detected during run-time. Note! Antenna supervision only works above Ubatt=12.6V for the following HW assy: 2490025, 2551941, 2551942.

Possible cause

Antenna malfunction is triggered by any of the following conditions: - Faulty connector - Faulty wire harness - Faulty antenna U26
