USB1 malfunction
Disconnect any external device/cable connected to the USB port and see if the DTC become passive. If it becomes passive, the issue is the external connected device. If the DTC remains active, then remove the wire harness and visually inspect all connectors between the infotainment system and USB port U21. Check for any short circuit in the USB cable, USB port U21 or infotainment system. Note. Before replacing the infotainment system update to the latest available software.

Diagnostic depth
If parameter System_USB1 = on and the 5V USB_Vbus line is short-circuited to USB_GND, USB_D+, USB_D- or USB_shield. This fault will be checked in run-time.
USB1 malfunction fault is triggered by any of the following conditions: - Faulty internal USB cable in the truck - Faulty USB connector - Faulty external cable connected to the USB port (for example a broken phone cable)
