GPS antenna open circuit
Note! Make sure the battery voltage is above the limit of detection. Disconnect the GPS cord (blue connector) from the antenna (U26) and inspect all connectors visually. Disconnect the antenna but keep the wires connected to the infotainment system which is kept on. Measure the voltage between ground and signal. The measurement result should be around 5 V. Check for any potential open circuit in the electric wires. If the fault is not in the harnesss or in the antenna, it is probably an internal fault in the infotainment system. Note. Before replacing the infotainment system update to the latest available software.
What you'll see
GPS-navigation and other GPS-related functions does not work, since no GPS-signal is available for the infotainment system.
System reaction
No system-reaction text recorded.
Diagnostic depth
If parameter Function_Navigation = on and also the parameter GPS_Phantom_Feed = on, if no GPS Antenna is connected. This fault will be checked during run-time. Note! Antenna supervision only works above 12.6V for the following HW assy: 2490024, 2490025, 2490026, 2551941, 2551942.
Antenna malfunction is triggered by any of the following conditions: - Faulty connector - Faulty wire harness - Faulty antenna U26
