System reaction
A yellow warning lamp “Sidewalk Detection functionality inactive”, is shown in the instrument cluster.
Diagnostic depth
The DTC is set to active if: - The sensor is active for more than 60 seconds. - The sensor shifts between active and inactive for more than 5 times within a period of 10 seconds, repeated 3 times. The DTC is set to inactive if: - The sensor has been inactive(= 0) for more than 10 seconds, with ignition on - The sensor has been inactive (= 0) for more than the first 2 seconds after ignition on DTC is only detected if the bus is equipped with ELC4 and has the Sidewalk detection function activated. The DTC is not set to active in the following cases: - Engine start is active. - Supply voltage is below 19 Volt. - Supply voltage is above 35 Volt.
Malfunction/interruption of the Sidewalk Detection sensor or the sensor harness.
