TMS CAN node timeout

â–¶ How to fix

• Check the TMS (E5) for DTCs • If DTCs cannot be read from the TMS: - Check power supply (pin A4) and ignition signal (pin A1) on the connector to TMS (E5) - Check wiring and connectors for the TMS sub-bus (pin B11 and B14 on the connector to E5). • Measure the resistance (with the 24V battery disconnected) between pins B5 CAN_H and B8 CAN_L on the connector to E81. It should be approximately 60 ohm (one 120 ohm termination resistor in each end of the CAN-bus). • If no other errors can be found, change TMS(E5).

What you'll see

No driver-visible symptom recorded.

System reaction

• Functions dependent on information from TMS might be degraded. Examples listed below. - No cooling request. - No state request

Diagnostic depth

Detection

The DTC is set active if CAN message has been absent for 200ms. The DTC is set inactive when CAN message is received. The DTC is not set in the following cases: • ignition is turned off • first 2 seconds after ignition on • system voltage is below 22 volt • system voltage is above 32 volt • short circuit or open circuit on the TMS sub-bus (separate DTCs)

Possible cause

• Power supply to TMS has failed • TMS unit disconnected from the TMS sub-bus • Faulty TMS unit
