BDU Relay wear out high

â–¶ How to fix

• Change the BDU in the battery pack (E83) according to instruction in Multi. • If the BDU was replaced due to high load interruption, change the fuse in the maintenance disconnector NOTE! Replacing the BDU is considered an electrical work and shall only be performed by Scania certified personnel. Vehicle shall be made safe according to electrical work procedure.

No driver-visible symptom recorded.

System reaction

• VOR, the hybrid system will not work since the battery will not be engaged. The DCC will not receive VCB-power and the 24-volt system will drain the 24-volt batteries. • Amber warning lamp "24V batteries not charged" and "Hybrid System Fault" is shown in ICL

Component fault nr. 1 from the IBU indicates relay wear high with one of the following counters have reached maximum value. 30000 normal, 15 medium load, 2 high load, 1 extreme load.

Possible cause

• BDU has reached end of lifetime • BDU has deactivated the battery pack during extreme load
