Battery pack voltage out of range
• If it happens only one or two times between two service intervals, reset DTC. If the error appear more frequently continue with next action • Check DTC related to load equipment on vehicle side (MGU, TMS, DCC etc.) and perform actions according to those DTC’s • Check the maintenance disconnect fuse. If the fuse is broken dismount the RES(E83) and change the BDU(E81) according to instruction in Multi and reset the relay counter in the IBU with SDP3 • If the fuse is ok dismount the RES(E83) according instruction in Multi and control that cables between the IBU and BDU is connected properly and that the connections are okay. • Change the IBU mounted in according to instruction in Multi and download operational data from the BMU(E81) to the IBU via SDP3 according to instruction in Multi NOTE! Replacing the IBU is considered an electrical work and shall only be performed by Scania certified personnel. Vehicle shall be made safe according to electrical work procedure.
What you'll see
No driver-visible symptom recorded.
System reaction
• VOR, the hybrid system will not work since the battery will not be engaged. The DCC will not receive VCB-power and the 24-volt system will drain the 24-volt batteries. • Amber warning lamp "24V batteries not charged" and "Hybrid System Fault" is shown in ICL
Diagnostic depth
Component fault nr. 18 from the IBU indicates battery pack voltage above limit Component fault nr. 19 from the IBU indicates battery pack voltage below limit
• Incorrect load regulation (Inverter, TMS, etc.) • Bad connection between BDU and IBU • BMU voltage measurement defective • Broken maintenance disconnect fuse • BDU defective
