Throttle control sensor

â–¶ How to fix

Check the throttle control sensor wiring and connector.Measure between coordinator pin 28 and pin 24 to check the supply voltage.Measure between coordinator pin 54 and pin 24 to check the signal voltage.Check whether the engine control unit also has set any fault codes. If this is shown to be an internal fault in the coordinator, the coordinator must be renewed.

What you'll see

No driver-visible symptom recorded.

System reaction

No system-reaction text recorded.

Diagnostic depth

Detection

The voltage in the throttle control sensor circuit has either been above or below the permitted level. The fault code is generated: if the supply voltage to the sensor has fallen below 4.1 V or exceeded 6.1 Vif the signal voltage from the sensor has fallen below approx. 0.25 V or exceeded approx. 4 V

Possible cause

Short circuit or open circuit in the throttle control sensor circuit. There may also be a internal fault in the throttle control sensor or in exceptional cases in the coordinator.
