Communication with the APS control unit
Check whether the APS control unit has generated any fault codes. Check the connection to the APS control unit. Check the APS control unit supply voltage circuit (30) and also the APS control unit activation signal circuit (15). Check the yellow CAN bus cable harness and connectors. Measure the resistance between the coordinator's pin for CAN-High and CAN-Low of the yellow CAN bus with the battery disconnected. Resistance should be around 60 ohm. (Due to the two termination resistors connected in parallel.) For buses with TPM: Ensure that the TPM control unit is fitted or replace it with a connector.
What you'll see
No driver-visible symptom recorded.
System reaction
No system-reaction text recorded.
Diagnostic depth
No CAN messages from the APS control unit.
Short circuit or open circuit in the APS control unit supply voltage circuit. The APS control unit is not connected to the CAN bus. Internal fault in the APS control unit. Incorrect parameter settings in the instrument cluster. The TPM control unit is not connected. On buses with TPM, CAN communication to the APS control unit goes via the TPM control unit.
