Redundant brake pedal sensor open circuit, or short circuit to ground.
• Check wiring (to brake pedal sensor) • Check connectors (to brake pedal sensor) • Check brake pedal sensor • Measure the sensor voltage between signal and ground • Check brake pedal mechanism
What you'll see
Continuous brake light. Problem activating exhaust brake. Brake pedal information sent on the CAN-bus is labeled with an error indicator. Cruise control is disabled Adaptive Cruise control is disabled Collision Mitigation (warning and/or brake assist) will be deactivated.
System reaction
Amber Cruise Control malfunc.
Diagnostic depth
Impermissible signal from the brake pedal redundant sensor. The sensor voltage level is too low. The brake pedal sensor has an open circuit, or is short circuit to ground.
• Defect wiring - open circuit on brake pedal signal (pin C12) - open circuit on brake pedal sensor supply (pin C30) - short circuit to ground • Defect connectors • Defect brake pedal sensor (potentiometer) • Mechanically defect brake pedal mechanism (causing brake pedal sensor to reach an impermissible position)
