Accelerator pedal normal sensor does not agree with the redundant sensor

â–¶ How to fix

• Check connectors (to accelerator pedal sensor) • Check accelerator pedal sensor • Check wiring (to accelerator pedal sensor)

What you'll see

Accelerator pedal will not function as long as the fault is present. Accelerator pedal position information sent on the CAN-bus is labeled with an error indicator. Accelerator pedal low idle switch information sent on the CAN-bus is labeled with an error indicator. Accelerator pedal kickdown information sent on the CAN-bus is labeled with an error indicator (if vehicle is equipped with kickdown) Downhill speed control is disabled Adaptive Cruise control is disabled Collision Mitigation (warning and/or brake assist) will be deactivated.

System reaction

Amber Cruise Control malfunc.

Diagnostic depth

Detection

Signals from accelerator pedal normal sensor and accelerator pedal redundant sensor do not correspond. Sensor component plausibly faulty.

Possible cause

• Defect accelerator pedal sensor component (potentiometers) • Defect connectors, poor contact • Defect wiring, leakage currents between wires or between wires and ground
