Long activation of sensing strip, front leaf or single leaf

â–¶ How to fix

Check the defect component and wiring. The resistance measured through the sensing strip when it is disconnected from the DCU shall be approximately 8200 ohm when it is not compressed and shall be less than 2000 ohm when it is compressed.

What you'll see

The door cannot be closed without disabling door safety using the switch in the driver area since it functions as if there were an object in the way.

System reaction

The DCU will operate as if the sensing strip were active due to an obstacle. The DCU signals 'Minor fault' over CAN to MBS, which then requests an exclamation mark indication in the related door in Bus stop page in ICL.

Diagnostic depth

Detection

The DCU has detected a permanent activation of the sensing strip (>20 s).

Possible cause

The signal from the sensitive strip has been active (<2000 ohm) for more than 20 s. Reasons can be: - Short circuit to ground. - Damaged or broken component (contact elements inside the sensing strip is out of order or some other problem). - Compressed sensing strip. The input is CN3-11 on a LHD bus and CN3-9 on a RHD bus.
