Steering Angle Sensor : wrong mounting position
While engine still running, mark zero position on the steering wheel and turn it in both directions by one turn (360 degrees). Check the steering angle sign values via diagnosis (+-360 degrees, sign should be negative while turning left and positive while turning right). If values are not OK, check the mounting and the drive of the sensor. If fault is still active check steering system for specified parts (e.g. steering lever). With engine running turn the steering wheel to its end positions, read the steering angle values via diagnosis and check if the read values are within the allowed range defined in the dataset. If fault is still active, replace the steering angle sensor.

Diagnostic depth
The failure is reported, if the sign of the steering angle sensor signal is incorrect.
