1. Check the CMS ECU for a DTC indicating fault

Detection
The software detects consequtive faults in either message checksum or sequence numbering of messages over a period of more than 200 ms. The DTC unsets if a valid speed command is acknowleged (this will validate with both message checksum and sequence number).
