Injector cyl. 1 cable/injector open load
XPI engine: Disconnect connectors on the ECU and cables on the coil to the faulty injector(s). Measure resistance over coil; should be around 0.2 - 0.4 Ohm. Check the cabling attachment to the ECU connector and through the cylinder head. Measure resistance between both ends of the high and low side of cables respectively (coil and ECU disconnected); there should be almost 0.0 Ohm. Gas engine -Check injector for electrical fault -Check wiring -Replace injector After repair, restart engine to remove DTC

System reaction
The system will continuously try to use the injector regardless of the detected malfunction. Gas engine: Torque is limited
Diagnostic depth
Permanent open circuit detected on the injector coil(s) or the cabling to the injector(s). The fault is detected only when engine is running.
Cables or the injector connected to cylinder 1 malfunction. Probably the cable(s) or the coil(s) is broken.
