Throttle, control error
On vehicles with a gas engine: -Check fuses. -Check the throttle, connectors and electrical cables. -Check the throttle position sensor and throttle actuator. -Renew the throttle. -Renew the engine control unit E88. For vehicles with pneumatic throttle: -Check if the throttle has limited movement. -Check for air leaks in the cylinder, valve block V107 or air hoses. -Check valve block V107. For vehicles with electric throttle M42: Warning! This must only be done with no power on the throttle (switch removed). Otherwise there is risk of injury. -Inspect and clean the throttle housing internally. -For an active or frequent fault code, renew the throttle.
What you'll see
No driver-visible symptom recorded.
System reaction
On vehicles with a gas engine: The engine cannot be started. For vehicles with pneumatic and electric throttle: No system response.
Diagnostic depth
Throttle cannot reach the required position.
On vehicles with a gas engine: -Throttle position sensor M34 may be faulty. -The adjustment of the throttle may have failed. For vehicles with pneumatic throttle: -Throttle stuck or moving very slowly -Insufficient air supply to the cylinder -Faulty valve block V107 For vehicles with electric throttle M42: -High friction -Blocked throttle blade -Internal mechanical fault -Internal electrical fault
