Fuel PDE temp sensor, short circuit to +24V or open load
â–¶ How to fix
- Check the wiring harness / connector for the fuel temperature sensor (T118). - Check that the fuel temperature sensor gives a reasonable value - Replace the fuel temperature sensor
What you'll see
No driver-visible symptom recorded.
System reaction
"Engine coolant temperature" is used instead as a replacement. The delivered engine power/torque will be less accurate.
Diagnostic depth
Detection
EMS indicates an electrical failure or short circuit to the battery on the pins connected to the fuel temperature sensor (T118)
Possible cause
Fuel temperature sensor (T118) - open circuit or short circuit to battery Faulty fuel temperature sensor (T118)
