Wastegate actuator not responding
â–¶ How to fix
Check the hoses in the air pressure system. Especially between the valve block and the actuator. Check valve block and the actuator membrane. Check if the wastegate flap is loose.
What you'll see
Might affect torque response if the wastegate flap is fully open.
System reaction
Hardware protection might be activated due to too high boost pressure.
Diagnostic depth
Detection
The EMS adapts an opening current for the wastegate actuator. If the opening current is too high something is wrong with the wastegate actuator because the wastegate flap is not moving for some reason.
Possible cause
Valve block is broken. Leakage/disconnected hoses in the air pressure system. Leakage in the actuator membrane. Broken mechanism to the wastegate flap.
