Injector 5 cable short circuit to ground
XPI engine: Disconnect injector connectors on the ECU and cables on the coil to the faulty injector(s). Measure resistance between high / low side of the coil respectively and the engine block; there should be infinite resistance (8 O). Check the cabling attachment to the connector and through the cylinder head. Measure resistance between high / low side cable and the engine block; there should be infinite resistance (8 O). Attach connectors to ECU and measure high /low side cable resistance to ECU ground; should be infinite resistance (8 O) or at least around 1 MO. Gas engine -Check injector for electrical fault -Check wiring -Replace injector After repair, restart engine to remove DTC
What you'll see
No driver-visible symptom recorded.
System reaction
Faults detected only when engine is running. The system will continuously try to use the injectors regardless of malfunction. Engine max torque is reduced depending on number of faulty injectors. Gas engine: Torque is limited
Diagnostic depth
Permanent short circuit to ground detected on the cabling to the injector(s).
There is probably a short circuit to ground in one of the injector cables. If an entire injector bank is faulty, one faulty cable may affect others on the same bank. XPI engine: Cables or injector connected to A1_1:4 and B1_1:4 or A1_6:9 and B1_6:9 malfunction.
