Detection
The max measured EGR position, during an EGR valve sweep test, is less than the EGR position defined as a closed valve. The test is executed if: - engine speed is within an allowed interval - no EGR request - low pressure drop over EGR system - sufficient supply pressure
Possible cause
- The EGR valve is stuck in closed position due to mechanical problems - The EGR valve cannot open due to leaking air pipe to valve. - The valve position sensor is broken or missing.
