Short circuit to battery on caster degradation solenoid (CDS)
Check wiring and connectors between the ESTA::ECU (E1003) and ESTA::CVU::CDS (V1002). The battery should be disconnected during measurements. 1. Check connnectors: - Disconnect harness connectors on both ECU side, and CDS side. - Visually check connectors for defects connecting E1003 and V1002. 2. Check solenoid: - Disconnect harness connector on both ECU side, and CDS side. - Measure the resistance on the solenoid component between pins V1002::1 and V1002::2. - Should be 6.3 ohm at +20°C If resistance about 0 ohm replace solenoid. 3. Check Wiring - Disconnect harness connector on both ECU side, and CDS side. - Check cable harness for defects. - Measure the resistance over the cables between pins E1003::A13 and E1003::A15. It should be infinite. If not cables has broken isolation or shorcicuit in cable connectors. - Connect the connector on CDS side. - Measure the resistance over the cables between pins E1003::A13 and E1003::A15. It should be about same resistance as in step 2. If resistance much lower short circuit in connector between CDS and cable. Verify that the issue is solved by performing a Diagnostic SelfTest (requires Parking Brake to be applied) - If the root cause fault has been fixed, this DTC will be set passive.
What you'll see
Only iIf system starts/restarted with error present degradation mode will be entered.
System reaction
Red Steer tag axle fault warn ESTA in released or fixed mode
Diagnostic depth
High current level detected on circuit in OFF state for CDS.
* Wiring - Connecting cables are broken * Connectors - Connector on CDS defect - Connector on ESTA defect
