Degradation Mode Valve(DMV) stuck in one position
• Check for electrical fault codes on CDS or DLS • Test solenoid CDS (V1002) - disconnect cable harness and measure resistance - should be 6.3 ohm at +20°C • Test solenoid DLS (V1001) - disconnect cable harness and measure resistance - should be 6.3 ohm at +20°C • If no electrical components are faulty and this error code is active please replace DMV (consist of V1002, V1001 and valve block). If the fault only occurs at very low temperatures, the oil might have to be replaced. See service litterature for recommended oil quality in cold climate. To invalidate error: 1. Turn the ignition key to OFF, and wait for 10 seconds. 2. Apply Parking brake. 3. Make sure the tag axle wheels are free to steer (e.g. vehicle should not be on a lift) 4. Turn the ignition key to ON. 5. Diagnostic SelfTest is now executed. 6. After approximately 60 second system should return to normal operation. - Faultcodes should be passive.
What you'll see
No driver-visible symptom recorded.
System reaction
Red Steer tag axle fault warn ESTA in released or fixed mode
Diagnostic depth
The DMV is stuck in one position when tested during Diagnostic SelfTest.
This could be caused by either an electrical, or a mechanical, fault. • Possible mechanical fault - DMV mechanically stuck - Hydraulic valve stuck - the Caster Degradation solenoid can't move its position. - Valve latch stuck - the Degradation Latch Solenoid can't move its position. • Possible electrical faults: - Defect solenoid CDS (V1002) - Defect solenoid DLS (V1001)
