#TBRemoved, Electrical error on Blue CAN bus (CAN1 BusOff)

â–¶ How to fix

• Check connector for Blue CAN-bus on MBS (pin CN-7 and 8). - Measure the resistance (with the battery disconnected) between CAN-high (pin CN3- 7) and CAN-low (pin CN3-7). It should be close to 60 ohm (one 120 ohm termination resistor in each end of the CAN-bus). - Measure the resistance (with the battery disconnected) between CAN-high on MBS (pin CN3-7) and CAN-high on any other unit on the expansion CAN-bus. It should be close to zero ohm. - Measure the resistance (with the battery disconnected) between CAN-low on MBS (pin CN3-8) and CAN-low on any other unit on the expansion CAN-bus. It should be close to zero ohm. • Trouble shoot CAN bus cable harness and connectors

What you'll see

No driver-visible symptom recorded.

System reaction

Functions dependent on information on the Blue CAN-bus to and from BCI might be degraded. E.g. - Many chassis related functions might be degraded. - BCI and/or MBS commiunication/ functionality degraded.

Diagnostic depth

Detection

Communication error. The CAN-controller of the Blue CAN-bus has entered state bus-off. There might be a short circuit on the Blue CAN-bus

Possible cause

• Defect wiring of Blue CAN-bus: - short circuit between CAN-high and CAN low. - short circuit between CAN-high and supply voltage. - short circuit between CAN-high and ground. - short circuit between CAN-low and supply voltage. - short circuit between CAN-low and ground. • Defect ECU unit(s) on the blue CAN-bus.
