#Not implemented. Electrical error on CAN bus 5

â–¶ How to fix

• The result of the receiving and transmitting messages is evaluated. • Check connector for CAN bus 5 on MBS. • Check wiring for CAN bus 5: - Measure the resistance (with the battery disconnected) between CAN-high and CAN-low. It should be close to 60 ohm (one 120 ohm termination resistor in each end of the CAN-bus). - Measure the resistance (with the battery disconnected) between CAN-high on MBS and CAN-high on any other unit (e.g. MBS_x) on CAN bus 5. It should be close to zero ohm. - Measure the resistance (with the battery disconnected) between CAN-low on MBS and CAN-low on any other unit on CAN bus 5. It should be close to zero ohm.

What you'll see

If equipped with electrical roof hatches and/or a HPAC, these may not work as intended.

System reaction

Functions dependent on information from CAN bus 5 are degraded, such as roof hatches and the HPAC.

Diagnostic depth

Detection

The CAN-controller of CAN bus 5 has entered state bus-off, which indicates a communication error There is a short circuit on CAN bus 5.

Possible cause

• Defect wiring of CAN-bus 5: - short circuit between CAN-high and CAN low. - short circuit between CAN-high and supply voltage. - short circuit between CAN-high and ground. - short circuit between CAN-low and supply voltage. - short circuit between CAN-low and ground. • Defect ECU unit(s) on CAN-bus 5.
