System reaction
No messages will be transmitted or received by CAN when CAN is in Bus Off state.
Diagnostic depth
Detection
Evaluation Condition If CAN has entered Bus Off state. Set Condition If CAN's transmit error counter increments to a value more than 255 CAN will enter Bus Off state. Clear Condition The CAN will try to enter the bus until it manage to enter the bus, when it enters the bus and the error counters for transmission and receiving are zero this DTC will be cleared.
Possible cause
Problems with the CAN bus. Disturbance on the CAN bus.
