SCR - Injection valve for reductant

â–¶ How to fix

Check that the hose is not kinked.Check whether there are crystals from the reductant in the reductant doser or main unit. Rinse out the crystals with water. If the temperature has been below - 10°C, check whether the injection valve in the reductant doser leaks.Carry out the system checks that are available in SDP3 for the SCR system. The system checks can help to detect some of the above faults.Proceed as follows to verify that the fault has been rectified:Carry out the test "Devalidating fault codes for NOx control" which can be found under the Check tab in SDP3 to check that the fault has been rectified. The test should be carried out outdoors because the exhaust gases become very hot and there is a risk that the exhaust extractor hose will melt. The test may take between approximately 5 to 30 minutes to carry out, depending on which fault codes are active.Otherwise, carry out the following so that the control unit will devalidate the fault.Make sure that the SCR system starts up four times in succession. Switch off the ignition with the starter key for 90 seconds between each time.If the fault has been rectified, the fault code becomes inactive. Clear the fault code. You can go into fault code monitoring and look at the fault code. There you can see whether the conditions under which the control unit verifies that the fault is rectified have been met. When the conditions have been met and the test is carried out, the fault code status is displayed during the test. If the fault code is pending, the control unit has detected a fault. If the fault has been rectified, the fault code becomes inactive and can be cleared.Switch the power off and on with the starter key three times in succession at 10 second intervals to extinguish the warning lamp.

What you'll see

No driver-visible symptom recorded.

System reaction

No system-reaction text recorded.

Diagnostic depth

Detection

During injection the pressure in the SCR system is not reduced as expected.

Possible cause

It may be a blockage in the injection valve, the outlet from the main unit, or in the hose between the main unit and the injection valve.
