Emergency shut off in the EEC system
Check for other fault codes and trouble shoot through these. After repairing the system, reset the flag in non volatile memory. For engines with NOx-control software, confirmation of repair requires:- Turn the ignition off, wait at least 90 s- Turn the ignition on, wait 25 s.If the fault is remedied, the DTC should now be passive
What you'll see
No driver-visible symptom recorded.
System reaction
Forced afterrun includes following steps: Storing of adaptive data in non volatile memory, shut off all power stage and shut off main relay. Forced afterrun occurs immediately after recognition of over temperature in EEC main unit. In next driving cycle the EEC system checks for any emergency error during initialization.Over temperature is detected when urea temperature in the EEC main unit is above 84.9 degC for the time 10 seconds. (See fault code 1038.) In the next driving cycle the temperature is checked again, and if the temperature is below 81 degC and above -5 degC then the system will start again. For engines with NOx-control software, this DTC is classed as a type D failure.
Diagnostic depth
The EEC system will be shutting down by means of forced afterrun.(Refer BOSCH SW-specification Y281S01334-VC0 for more details. Error path: ep06_s_def_ouw.11, emrs_s_def_ouc.0.)
Detection of over temperature in EEC main unit will cause the system to shut down by means of forced afterrun. (See fault code 1038.)
