Fuel pressure in the accumulator
The fuel system has a very high pressure, up to 3000 bar. The fuel system must be depressurised before any work is carried out. The system should always be treated as pressurised, even when the engine is switched off. Wear protective gloves and goggles. For more information about safety when working with the fuel system, refer to service information "XPI fuel system" If there is any fault code related to fuel inlet metering valve V120, it must be rectified first.Check fuel inlet metering valve V120; follow Checking the fuel inlet metering valve.Renew the high pressure pump.If the operating time after the fault code was generated has exceeded 10 hours, the EGR cooler must be emptied. Because there is a risk that condensation formed in the air-cooled EGR cooler when the EGR system was shut down.Carry out the emptying in according to the instructions, see Workshop manual, 01-65 EGR system, Air-cooled EGR cooler.
