Calibration memory, read/ write error

â–¶ How to fix

* Overview of the significant calibration parameters: - Vehicle identification number; read RDI: 0xF190. 17 byte ASCII. - Vehicle registration number; Read RDI: 0xF97E. - Characteristic coefficient (w-value); Read RDI: 0xF91D. Gain: 0,001 pulses/m/bit. Offset: 0 pulses/m. Range: 0x0960..0x61A8. - Recording equipment constant (k-value); Read RDI: 0xF918. Gain: 0,001 pulses/m/bit. Offset: 0 pulses/m. Range: 0x0000..0xFAFF. - Effective wheel circumference; Read RDI: 0xF91C. Gain: 0,000125 m/bit. Offset: 0 m. Range: 0x0000..0xFAF8. - Tire size; Read RDI: 0xF921.15 byte ASCII. - Maximum speed; Read RDI: 0xF92C. Gain: 1/256 km/h/bit. Offset: 0 km/h. Range: 0x0000..0xDC00. - UTC time; Read RDI: 0xF90B. See ISO 16844-7 for more information. - Odometer reading; Read RDI: 0xF912. Gain: 5 m/bit. Offset: 0 m. Range: 0x00000000..0x773593FF - Calibration date; Read RDI: 0xF19B. See ISO 16844-7 for more information. * Insert a workshop card and correct the parameters if found faulty. Compare the parameters in the tachograph with the parameters in the overview. * If the error message appears despite repetitive acknowledgement, replace the tachograph.

What you'll see

No driver-visible symptom recorded.

System reaction

MC09/EV008: * Warning message with error text: "Internal fault" together with Memory Code 09 is shown in the tachograph display. * The warning message will be displayed repetitively every hour until the cause is withdrawn. * Event stored in the tachograph memory * Event stored and in the inserted tachograph card. * System event in TCO1 CAN message is set to active. * Tachograph warning (amber T) is displayed in the instrument cluster.

Diagnostic depth

Detection

Fault detected in the calibration memory. An internal cyclical test of significant calibration parameters has found a check sum error.
