Sensor / Tachograph signature mismatch
MC17: * Use a test device to pair the motion sensor with the tachograph. * Check the motion sensor: - Damaged wiring or connector? - Loose connector? - Poor connection? - Check the motion sensor pin assignment. * Replace defective components. MC18: * Check the motion sensor: - Damaged wiring or connector? - Loose connector? - Poor connection? - Check the motion sensor pin assignment. * Use a test device to pair the motion sensor with the tachograph. * Replace defective components. MC23: * Withdraw and the workshop card, re-insert the card and enter the correct PIN code. * Check the motion sensor: - Damaged wiring or connector? - Loose connector? - Poor connection? * Check the component pin assignment for the motion data signal: - Motion sensor: Pin 4 (data signal output). - Tachograph: Pin B4 (data signal input). - Check the connections between the motion sensor and the tachograph. * Use a test device to pair the motion sensor with the tachograph. * Replace defective components. MC24: * Check the sealing off the motion sensor and transmission for evidence off unauthorized motion sensor removal or replacement. * Use a test device to pair the motion sensor with the tachograph. * Check the wiring and the connector to the motion sensor and the tachograph: - Damaged wiring or connector? - Loose connector? - Poor connection? * Replace defective components.

System reaction
MC17/EV201: * Warning message with error text "security breach" together with Memory Code 17 is shown in the tachograph display. * The warning message will be displayed repetitively every hour until the cause is withdrawn. * Event stored in the tachograph memory * Event stored and in the inserted tachograph card. * System event in TCO1 CAN message is set to active. * Tachograph warning (amber T) is displayed in the instrument cluster. MC18/EV202: * Warning message with error text "security breach" together with Memory Code 18 is displayed in the tachograph display. MC23/EV303: * Warning message with error text "security breach" together with Memory Code 23 is shown in the tachograph display. MC24/EV304: * Warning message with error text "security breach" together with Memory Code 24 is shown in the tachograph display.
Diagnostic depth
MC17: Data security fault. Internal sensor error, the motion sensor indicates an error in the data integrity. MC18: Internal motion sensor error, authentication error. The motion sensor indicates an error during authentication. MC23: Error during authentication of the motion sensor during operation or error during the pairing procedure. MC24: Unknown serial number. Error during comparison of the serial numbers of the motion sensor.
MC17: * Lost paring between the tachograph and the motion sensor. MC18: -- MC23: * Error during authentication of the motion sensor during operation or error during the pairing procedure. * Multiple coupling with the motion sensor. After three trials of pairing , this function will be blocked for security reasons. The workshop card must then be withdrawn and re-inserted; i.e., the workshop card must be re-authenticated. MC24: --
