Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) is NOT calibrated

Perform a Steering Angle Sensor calibration using a diagnostic tool.

System reaction

• Functions dependent on information from SAS are degraded.

Detection

The DTC is set active if the CAN message "SAS_Prop" received from the SAS unit reports that the sensor is NOT calibrated The DTC is set inactive if the CAN message "SAS_Prop" received from the SAS unit reports that the sensor is calibrated The DTC is not set in the following cases: • ignition is turned off • first 2 seconds after ignition on • system voltage is below 22 volt • system voltage is above 32 volt

Possible cause

The reason could be any of the following: * A new sensor has been installed but it not yet calibrated. * The calibration in the sensor has been lost for some other reason
