DTC › EST1 EST1 / 0212

Open load on caster degradation solenoid (CDS).

â–¶ How to fix

Check wiring and connectors between the EST::ECU (E112) and EST::CVU::CDS (V199). The battery should be disconnected during measurements. 1. Check connnectors: - Disconnect harness connectors on both ECU side, and CDS side. - Visually check connectors for defects connecting E112 and V199. 2. Check solenoid: - Disconnect harness connector on both ECU side, and CDS side. - Measure the resistance on the solenoid component between pins V199::1 and V199::2. - Should be 6.3 ohm at +20°C - If resitance infinite replace solenoid. 3. Check Wiring - Disconnect harness connector on both ECU side, and CDS side. - Check cable harness for defects. - Measure the resistance in the cable between pins E112::A13 and V199::1. It should be approximately 0 ohm. - Measure the resistance in the cable between pins E112::A15 and V199::2. It should be approximately 0 ohm. 4. Check output from EST::ECU::E112 - Disconnect harness connector on both ECU side, and CDS side. - Connect battery turn ignition ON. - Meassure voltage from E112 output over pins E112::A13 and E112::A15. Small detectable diagnostic voltage level in off state should be present Verify that the issue is solved by performing a Diagnostic SelfTest (requires Parking Brake to be applied) - If the root cause fault has been fixed, this DTC will be set passive.

What you'll see

Only iIf system starts/restarted with error present degradation mode will be entered.

System reaction

Red Steer tag axle fault warn EST in released or fixed mode

Diagnostic depth

Detection

EST checks if the CDS is connected to the system.

Possible cause

* Wiring - Connecting cables are broken * Connectors - Connector on CDS defect - Connector on EST defect * Solenoid CDS - defect
