CAN-timeout on message TCO1 Tachograph.
Check the wiring and connectors on TMS (E5), Tachograph ECU and the Coordinator ECU. Check if the Tachograph or Coordinator has any DTCs and troubleshoot those. If none of the above helps replace Tachograph and then replace TMS (E5).
What you'll see
Minor reducement of gear shifting performance possible. Unable to activate cruise control functions.
System reaction
Functions in TMS using the tachograph speed (such as cruise control, adaptive cruise control, downhill cruise control, speed limiter) will be shut off.
Diagnostic depth
The CAN-message has not been received for a specified amount of time.
The message is sent from the Tachograph ECU on the Yellow CAN bus, then gated by the Coordinator ECU to the Red CAN bus.The DTC might be caused by: Fault in the ECU connectors (Tachograph, Coordinator, TMS)Fault in the communication cables (Yellow, Red CAN)Error in the Tachograph ECU resulting in the message not being sent.
