The other node is missing on the red CAN bus (OTHER_NODE_MISSING_ON_RED)
Check connectors and cable harnesses. If the DTC is still active after this, exchange the malfunctioning node. To identify which node that is malfunctioning, look in the freeze frame information. NodeIdentity = 01 means that diagnostic communication is currently going on with node 1, thus indicating that the malfunctioning node is node 2. NodeIdentity = 02 consequently indicates that the malfunctioning node is node 1.
What you'll see
No driver-visible symptom recorded.
System reaction
When the DTC is active, the ACS malfunction warning will be active and the system will enter limp home mode. The system cannot handle both high and low CAN being disconnected at the same time. In case of both high and low CAN being disconnected, the correct error codes will not be formed.
Diagnostic depth
The DTC becomes active in a node when it has not received any messages from the other node via the red CAN bus for 5 seconds. The DTC is not set to active if the diagnostic command “disable normal transmission” is active. The DTC becomes inactive in a node when it has received a message from the other node via the red CAN bus.
Short circuit or open circuit in the cable harness. ECU malfunction.
