Short circuit to battery on proportional valve (PWM Output 5).

â–¶ How to fix

1. Check cable harness and connectors between ACS (E751) and proportional valve (V541). 2. Proportional valve may have been damaged by the short circuit. Check its functionality through a resistance reading. The valve should have a resistance of approx. 7-8 ohms. Replace it if resistance is very high or close to zero.

What you'll see

Proportional valve is not working, with a high risk of maximum damping applied (valve fully closed). It may require a lot of force to bend the articulation.

System reaction

Red ACS stop lamp Speed Limitation

Diagnostic depth

Detection

Higher current level than anticipated detected in circuit connecting to proportional valve.

Possible cause

- Defect cable harness connecting ACS and proportional valve. - Defect connector in either ACS or proportional valve.
