Reductant pump motor is stuck
0.1 Before any troubleshooting is performed, ensure that the pump is not frozen 1. Run the pump test, check if the pump is sending a feedback value indicating the failure mode 1.1 If a valid failure mode is present, correct it and run the pump test again. 1.2 If the pump can be heard moving but no valid failure mode is avilable, check the feedback pin for electrical failure 1.3 If the pump does not appear to move nor send any valid feedback during the test 1.3.1 (Optional)Run the test again with a known working test pump (only connected electrically) 1.3.1.1 If that pump runs, replace the pump 1.3.1.2 If the pump does not run, check the harness and connectors between the EEC and the pump motor for electrical failure. 1.3.2 Check the harness and connectors between the EEC and the pump motor for electrical failure. 1.4 Replace the pump If a failure has been found and corrected, use the pump test to check that the system is working and to inactivate the fault code. (After SOP2203) 1. Use the diagnostic tool to run the pump test. 2. If the test fails, make sure that the system is not frozen. 3. Disconnect the pressure hose on the pump use the diagnostic tool to run the reductant pump flow. 4. If the test fails, check the harness and connectors between the EEC and the pump motor for electrical failure. 5. If no electrical failure in the harness or connectors are found and the pump is not frozen, change the pump. If a failure has been found and corrected, use the stable pressure test to check that the system is working and to inactivate the fault code.
What you'll see
1. The pump does not move 2. The pump can be heard moving 1-2 seconds and then stopping, repeatedly
System reaction
Note: This fault shuts off the reductant flow in the system. This affects the cooling of the reductant dosing unit. Combined with high exhaust temperatures this could damage the reductant dosing unit.
Diagnostic depth
There is no valid signal on the feedback pin indicating that the pump has entered proper operation (After SOP2203) The reductant pressure is not increasing and the pump motor speed sensor shows a lower value than its working range
1. Electrical failure on the supply pins 2. Electrical failure on the feedback pin 3. Electrical failure on the control pin 4. Reductant pump (V183) speed sensor may be broken. 5. Reductant pump (V183) is unable to start due to too high pressure in the system 6. Reductant pump (V183) motor stuck (After SOP2203) 1. Reductant pump (V183) is unable to start due to too high pressure in the system 2. Reductant pump (V183) motor stuck.
