Loss of ground in BCI system
• Check wiring (Pin A3 or Pin A1) • Check connectors (Pin A3 or Pin A1)
What you'll see
No driver-visible symptom recorded.
System reaction
• If System ground is disconnected: BCI will use Reference ground as System ground instead and remain fully operational. DTC will be set. • If Reference ground is disconnected: BCI will remain fully operational. DTC will be set. • If both System ground and Reference ground is disconnected: BCI will shut down or find ground through an externally grounded load. The later is potentially dangerous since outputs can be unintentionally activated. No DTC is set. Note that this DTC will remain active until ignition is toggled (even if both ground connections are restored).
