DCC CAN node timeout
• Check the BMU(E81) for DTCs • If DTCs cannot be read from the BMU: - check power supply and ignition signal to the BMU(E81) pin A4 for power supply and A1 for wake up and DCC(E84) pin 3 for power supply and pin 7 for wake up. - check CAN connection to the DCC(E84) pin 1 for CAN_H and pin 2 for CAN_L • Check wiring and connectors for the Hybrid Batt-bus • Measure the resistance on the connector to BMU(E81) (with the 24V battery disconnected) between pins B11 CAN_H and B 14 CAN_L. It should be approximately 120 ohm (one 120 ohm termination resistor in each end of the CAN-bus, but one is disconnected in this measurement). • If no other errors can be found, change DCC(E84).
What you'll see
No driver-visible symptom recorded.
System reaction
• VOR, the DCC will not supply VCA-power and the 24-volt system will drain the 24-volt batteries. • Amber warning lamp "24V batteries not charged" and "Hybrid System Fault" is shown in ICL
Diagnostic depth
The DTC is set active if DCC CAN message has been absent for 200 ms. The DTC is set inactive when DCC CAN message is received. The DTC is not set in the following cases: • ignition is turned off • first 2 seconds after ignition on • system voltage is below 22 volt • system voltage is above 32 volt • short circuit or open circuit on the RES CAN bus (separate DTCs)
• Power supply to DCC has failed • DCC unit disconnected from the RES CAN bus • Faulty DCC unit
