Battery pack over charged
• If it happens only one or two times between two service intervals, reset DTC. If the error appear more frequently continue with next action • Check if TMS have set any DTC’s regarding plausibility check. If so the primary error might not be connected to the RES. • If the vehicle have been operating very intensive the last week; park the vehicle over night for 12h (U15 off) so the battery can perform cell balancing. The battery will do this on its own. • Perform a test drive with intensive acceleration and several long slow braking from high velocity >60km/h to stop. Make sure the battery gets fully charged. • Park the vehicle for minimum 30min and read out actual SOC-value via SDP3. It should be 50% +/- 3% • Check if the DTC's has returned. If so perform balancing routine one more time. • If the DTC still returns change battery pack (E83) according to instruction in multi and in co understanding with the vehicle owner hence it's a very expensive part.
What you'll see
No driver-visible symptom recorded.
System reaction
• Not allowed to charge the battery until the actual SOC is within its operational range • Amber warning lamp "Hybrid System Fault" is shown in ICL
Diagnostic depth
The estimated charge level calculated in RES(E83) is above 75%
• The battery have not had time to perform cell balancing which can cause high inaccuracies in the SOC-estimation • Wrong request by the TMS
