Battery pack over/under temperature
• If the vehicle have been exposed to a external heat source, delete the DTC and avoid parking the vehicle in direct sunlight or nearby anything that causes warm temperatures. • If this DTC’s has been set the battery have been exposed to a temperature where it degrades rapidly and might need replacement much earlier than expected • Check for DTC’s related to cell under voltage or over voltage that could explain high temperatures • Check DTC’s related to the battery heating system and perform actions according to those DTC’s
What you'll see
No driver-visible symptom recorded.
System reaction
• If maximum cell temperature is above 55ºC the hybrid electrical power is reduced to zero. And if maximum cell temperature is above 60ºC the battery will go into error state and disconnect the battery from the system. • VOR, the hybrid system will not work since the battery will not be engaged. The DCC will not receive VCB-power and the 24-volt system will drain the 24-volt batteries. • Amber warning lamp "24V batteries not charged" and "Hybrid System Fault" is shown in ICL
Diagnostic depth
Component fault nr. 6 from the IBU indicates maximum cell temperature above 80ºC or Component fault nr. 7 from the IBU indicates minimum cell temperature below -40ºC.
• Malfunction in the battery heater(H32) • The battery have been exposed to a external heat source (Fire, hot air outlet, Sun light) • Internal short-circuit in the battery that heats the cell. • Wrong measurement due to disturbances or sensor error. • Insufficient cooling of battery pack
