Battery pack bad cell temperature balance
β’ Check DTC for water level in coolant expansion tank for the battery cooling circuit. β’ Check that the water level in the coolant expansion tank is OK. β’ If the water level is low check for leakage in the battery coolant circuit β’ Check for coolant leakage in the battery pack (E83). There is a small hole in the battery coolant interface where coolant will come out if there are a leakage in the internal battery coolant circuit. β’ If leakage in the battery. Change defect hose according to instruction in Multi. β’ Perform functional test of the battery coolant circuit according to instruction in Multi β’ Read out the SOH value via SDP3 it should be above 52% (A new battery exchange recommendation parameter will be available later) β’ Change battery pack(E83) according to instruction in multi and in co understanding with the vehicle owner hence itβs a very expensive part.
What you'll see
No driver-visible symptom recorded.
System reaction
If the temperature difference between the maximum and minimum cell temperature is >15ΒΊ the power is reduced in the hybrid system.
Diagnostic depth
Maximum cell temperature β minimum cell temperature > 15ΒΊC
β’ Cells are defective or worn out β’ Insufficient or uneven cooling of battery pack - internal fault β’ Low coolant level or coolant pump malfunction.
