Battery pack CSC communication error
β’ Check and tighten the ground connections to the battery pack (E83), DCC(E84), MGU(E82), electric machine(M33), VCB junction box (B78) and the grounding point in the HRU(G63) β’ Perform a visual inspection of the VCB-connectors in the battery pack (E83), DCC(E84), MGU(E82) and electric machine(M33) β’ Disconnect the connector from the component and measure that there is a connection between the connector housing and the component via the cable shielding and the ground connection. β’ If any connector has bad shielding connection change the harness according to instruction in Multi β’ Measure the capacitance of the filter components in the MGU and the DCC. It should be 1,4Β΅F from + to GND and β to GND in the MGU and 28nF from + to GND and β to GND in the DCC β’ If any component have incorrect capacitance, change the component according to instruction in Multi β’ Even if the problem is solved the battery pack might still be damaged. If the DTC is still set change battery pack (E83) according to instruction in multi and in co understanding with the vehicle owner hence itβs a very expensive part.
What you'll see
No driver-visible symptom recorded.
System reaction
β’ No Cell voltage or temperature measurements available. Causes the system to perform emergency shutdown. β’ VOR, the hybrid system will not work since the battery will not be engaged. The DCC will not receive VCB-power and the 24-volt system will drain the 24-volt batteries. β’ Amber warning lamp "24V batteries not charged" and "Hybrid System Fault" is shown in ICL
Diagnostic depth
Error bit is received from the IBU
High disturbances on the VCB-system from the MGU or DCC may disturb the CSC measurements or the communication between the CSC and the IBU.
