Timeout on CAN in communication with EHS
Check the EHS for related DTCs. • Check other ECUs for DTCs indicating time-out from the unit EHS. • Check unit EHS: - Wiring to Supply Voltage (30), System Ground (31), and WakeUp - Check CAN connections • Check CMS::ECU (E113) connection to Subbus1 CAN (wiring and connectors). The battery should be disconnected. - Disconnect harness connector on ECU side, and measure the resistance between pins A35 and A38. It should be approximately 60 ohm (two 120 ohm termination resistors in CAN-bus network).
What you'll see
• A red warning ”Steering fault” will be shown in the instrument cluster.
System reaction
Red Steering failure
Diagnostic depth
Communication error. Communication with the Electro Hydraulic Steering (EHS) is interrupted
• Faulty EHS unit • EHS unit disconnected from the subCAN1 bus
