Accelerator pedal normal sensor short circuit to battery.
• Check wiring (to accelerator pedal sensor) • Check connectors (to accelerator pedal sensor) • Check accelerator pedal sensor • Measure the sensor voltage between signal and ground • Check accelerator pedal mechanism
What you'll see
Accelerator pedal will not function as long as the fault is present. Accelerator pedal position information sent on the CAN-bus is labeled with an error indicator. Accelerator pedal kickdown information sent on the CAN-bus is labeled with an error indicator (if vehicle is equipped with kickdown). Downhill speed control is disabled Adaptive Cruise control is disabled Collision Mitigation (warning and/or brake assist) will be deactivated.

Diagnostic depth
Impermissible signal from the accelerator pedal normal sensor. The sensor voltage level is too high. The accelerator sensor is short circuit to supply voltage.
• Defect wiring - short circuit between accelerator pedal signal (pin C11) and supply voltage (+5V or +24 V) - open-circuit on accelerator (normal) ground connector C20. • Defect connectors • Defect accelerator pedal sensor (potentiometer) • Mechanically defect accelerator pedal mechanism (causing accelerator pedal sensor to reach an impermissible position)
