AWD node: timeout in CAN communication.
• Check the AWD for DTCs. • If DTCs cannot be read from the AWD: - check CAN connection to AWD unit - check power supply and ignition signal to the AWD • Check wiring and connectors for the orange CAN-bus • Measure the resistance (with the battery disconnected) between pins B6 and B15. It should be approximately 60 ohm (one 120 ohm termination resistor in each end of the CAN-bus).
What you'll see
No driver-visible symptom recorded.
System reaction
• Functions dependent on information from AWD are degraded (examples listed below): - instrument cluster display of differential lock in the transfer case gearbox - speed limits for allowing change to low range in gearbox might be altered
Diagnostic depth
Communication error. Communication with the All-Wheel Drive node (AWD) interrupted.
• Faulty AWD unit • AWD unit disconnected from the orange CAN bus
