Propeller shaft speed sensor short circuit to battery.
• Check wiring and connectors between propeller shaft speed sensor and COO • Check propeller shaft speed sensor • Measure the sensor voltage between signal and ground
What you'll see
This fault is only detected on trucks without a tachograph. • No vehicle speed is displayed in instrument cluster • Vehicle distance is not incremented • Shifting to range low gear is inhibited (*) • Cruise Control is inhibited • Generally, all functions dependent on vehicle speed information, is degraded (*) During the first 10 seconds after ignition on, it is always possible to shift to range low gear.
System reaction
Amber COO Warning Lamp
Diagnostic depth
Impermissible signal from propeller shaft speed sensor. The sensor voltage level is too high. The propeller shaft speed sensor is short circuit to supply voltage.
• Defect wiring: - short circuit between sensor signal (pin C1) and supply voltage. • Defect connectors • Defect sensor unit (on vehicles without tachograph)
