DTC › DAS2 DAS2 / 0290

Inconsistent long term RAM data.

â–¶ How to fix

No action is needed if DTC is set a few times (1-5). The system should work normally after reset, the DTC is only activated to track the reset cause. However, If set frequently: • Check electrical installation in vehicle for non-certified third party equipment(*) and disconnect these. • Check for available software updates/campaigns. • Thereafter, replace ECU if problem remains (*) The sensitivity, for equipment with high EMC radiation, is increased in an EMC emitting environment. This could for example be radar stations (airport/military), electric distribution plants, electrical switch towers, transformer stations, steel works, "electric" welding, etc.

What you'll see

No driver-visible symptom recorded.

System reaction

A software reset is performed. Thereafter the system should work normally.

Diagnostic depth

Detection

A portion of the internal RAM is used to store configuration data. At system start, information is read from a non-volatile memory. The information from the non-volatile memory is stored in the portion of RAM used for configuration data. After this initial store, the configuration data should be available for reading only. No change of the information is permitted. The consistency of the data is controlled with a checksum. If the checksum test fails, this DTC is set. If the checksum test is successful, this DTC is set inactive.

Possible cause

• Exposure to extensive electro-magnetic radiation • Software flaws. • ECU hardware error.
