Illegal software operation.
After a system restart, e.g. using the ignition key, the system should work normally. • Check for available software updates/campaigns. • Check electrical installation in vehicle for non-certified third party equipment(*) and disconnect these. (*) The sensitivity to equipment with high EMI is increased in electro magnetic emitting environments. This could be near RADAR stations (airport/military), electric distribution plants, electrical switch towers, transformer stations, steel works, "electric" welding, etc.
What you'll see
DTC set active or possive.
System reaction
• When the fault occurred the DAS system might have been restarted. • Unexpected and undefined behaviour is possible.
Diagnostic depth
The DTC is set active if the ECU software executes code that should not be possible to reach, or if the ECU has performed an unexpected reset. The DTC is set inactive after a system reset (provided that the previous fault does not re-occur).
• Software flaws • Exposure to extensive electro-magnetic radiation
