DTC › DAS2 DAS2 / 030A

DIS2 node: timeout in CAN communication.

â–¶ How to fix

• Check the DIS2 for DTCs. • If DTCs cannot be read from the DIS2: - Check CAN connection to DIS2 unit. - Check power supply and ignition signal to the DIS2. • Check wiring and connectors for the CAN bus. • Measure the resistance (with the battery disconnected) between pins B6 and B15. It should be approximately 60 ohm (one 120 ohm termination resistor in each end of the CAN-bus). • Measure the resistance (with the battery disconnected) between CAN-high (pin B6) and supply. It should be high ohmic (Mega ohm). • Measure the resistance (with the battery disconnected) between CAN-low (pin B15) and ground. It should be high ohmic (Mega ohm). • Disconnect the other ECU units one at the time from the CAN bus and check if the remaining ECU timeout error codes disappear.

Diagnostic depth

Detection

The DTC is set active if the CAN-message GeneralInfoDISProp has been absent for 300 ms on the CAN bus. The DTC is set to inactive if the CAN-message GeneralInfoDISProp is received. The DTC is not set in the following cases: • Ignition is turned off • First 2 seconds after ignition on • System voltage is below 22 volt • System voltage is above 30 volt

Possible cause

• Faulty DIS2 unit • DIS2 unit disconnected from the evironment sensor CAN bus If all connected ECUs on the sensor CAN-bus present timeout error codes the cause might be: • Defect wiring : - Short circuit between CAN-high and supply voltage. - Short circuit between CAN-low and ground. • Defect ECU unit(s) on the CAN bus.
